Why don't all heat treatments get the same results?
A Bed Bug tech and his equipment is no different than a mechanic and his wrenches. The tools don’t get the job done, the skills do. When bed bugs detect rising temps at the beginning of a treatment they release pheromones that signal others to escape the area or hide in cooler cracks and crevices. Before we begin a treatment we inspect a room both visually and thermally, so we have an idea of what area the bed bugs are in, and what areas they may flee to. After heat treatment we set up proprietary non-chemical countermeasures for any possible survivors, no matter how small the possibility may be. Traditional pest control companies can only apply pesticide sprays, bed leg traps with unreliable effectiveness or silica powders after their heat treatments. None of these measures can guarantee you wont be bitten again.
When you arrive, will everyone know I have bed bugs?
No. We service our customers in an unbranded vehicle, and we don’t wear any sort of logo. We provide a discreet service.
How long does a service take?
Typically 4 hours for an average size bedroom with ceilings less than 10ft high
Why don't you use pesticides or diatomaceous earth?
Commercial pesticides and diatomaceous earth can be effective at controlling a bed bug population. On the other hand, our customers are looking for an immediate end to their bites. Not fewer and fewer bites over the course of weeks. Consumer grade pesticides from Home Depot, Lowes or Amazon are simply a waste of money. All bed bug populations in NY/NJ have developed immunity to them.
What do you suggest I do if I want to treat the infestation on my own?
First you’ll need to run all of your bedding through a 45 minute dryer high heat cycle. Then with a handheld steamer, treat all the seams and creases of your mattress, box spring, pillows and bed. Follow this up with zip up mattress protectors on both your mattress and box spring. This is a decent attempt at sanitizing a bed but it often fails because friction between bed and box spring eventually tears mattress protectors, releasing any bugs formerly trapped inside.
After full bed sanitation, suspend bed legs on dish-type bed leg traps to help with any other bed bugs in the room who may climb your beds legs looking for a blood meal. Also address any contact between your bed and the floor and walls. Comforters or sheets that touch the floor or parts of the bed that touch your walls are highways for bed bugs to reach you.
Though its effectiveness may be limited, this is a good approach to fighting a very early bed bug infestation.

What do I do if I'm bitten again?
We give a 30 day guarantee to cover the slight possibility that any bed bugs have survived our treatment. Bed bugs are simple parasites with very predictable behavior. They will find their way back to your bed in far less than 30 days if they are close enough. Our tech will discuss with you the importance of keeping your bed away from walls and any bedding off of the floor during this period after treatment. If their instructions are followed and you are bitten again, contact us and we’ll set up a date/time to come back out and re-treat.
